Lutterworth Town Council
In the interests of openness and transparency, I need to tell you that I was recently co-opted on to the Lutterworth Town Council as a Councillor for Springs Ward.
I stood for co-option because I wanted to help ensure that the people of Lutterworth were represented in a number of areas, not least of which is the Lutterworth East issue. I also want to make sure that there is a clear flow of impartial information available to you all, as and when it's available. For the avoidance of doubt, I am not associated with any political party, nor will I become so.
Why am I telling you this? Well, it's important to me that the clear, plain, basic facts are out there in the public domain. However, if it ever looks as though I am declaring an opinion, please remember that it is MY opinion, and does not necessarily represent what the Town Council's view is. Just a necessary health warning, that's all !
My guess is that we will start hearing something from the planners towards mid / end of December, and if we don't then I will be chasing them up again. I am working on a set of questions that I believe the current plans need to answer. These can then be applied to the new plan, so we should be on the front foot should we get the opportunity for further public consultation.
So, this is where you can start to get your say. Despite everything that you have seen and heard, my guess is that there are still unanswered questions out there. Therefore, if you have a question regarding Lutterworth East, and you think that I might be able to answer it, send that question to me by email and I will do my very best to get you an answer. And if I can't, I'll let you know and I'll add it to the list of questions that need to be asked during consultation. If you think this is a good idea, spread the word to friends and neighbours and we might be able to start a ball rolling! Oh, and I know it goes without saying, but please keep the questions to the subject in hand !!
Finally, and back on the subject of communication, I'm conscious that most of the information will get communicated by email / blog / Facecloth etc. However, I know that my 91 year old auntie is keen to know what's going on, but doesn't do all of this electronic nonsense. SO, if you have any thoughts about the best way to get the message out to the people of Lutterworth, please let me know...
That's it - you can get back to the important things in your life now!
